It's A Girl!

We had the big ultrasound yesterday for our little snicker-doodle. Of course, as predicted, at the start of the show, Snick had crossed legs, dooming the poor baby to be known as Snick until the end of April.
Everything looked great as is proceeding as it should be.

Here's a picture of the face showing the lens of the eye...slightly less weird looking than the skeletal facial shot (or not?).
There was plenty of hand and leg movement, including one fist pump (apparently Snick does not like to be pestered during play time - just like big sister) and the "oh geez" hand gesture.

The feet are actually growing in proportion to the body. Either this kid will have normal sized feet, or those don't really grow until the third trimester.

Oh, and near the end of the appointment with the ultrasound tech, she said she couldn't give us her usual 99%, but she was 88% sure we're having a girl. The doctor came in and said he'd call it 92% sure, so IT'S A GIRL!!

First Picture

Here it is, the first shot of our little Snickerdoodle. We had our first appointment with the doctor today. All looks good, and he confirmed the late April date. Big sister, Maddie, was along, and as soon as this shot came up on the screen she called out, "Baby!" We can't wait for them to meet. And to find out if we're having a boy or a girl. We let Mad be a surprise, but this time we want to know!

Appointment #1

Today we met with the OB nurse. We were pleasantly surprised to find that my favorite nurse from when Maddie was born is now the main OB nurse for the clinic. The last one almost made me switch hospitals; thankfully I only had to see her once! This time Jeff was welcomed in, the nurse was more friendly and supportive, and the whole visit was entirely more enjoyable.
We learned our due date should be around April 28, 2009. It seems so far away, but as with Maddie, I'm sure the time will go by too quickly for us! Next month we start visits with the doctor, and should get our first ultrasound picture then. For now, we're just waiting impatiently!

Another Baby!

We just found we're expecting our second child sometime next spring!

One of the greatest gifts
That life can give to anyone
Is the very special love that families share...
Few gifts in life
Will last as long
Or touch the heart as deeply
As the very special gift
Of family.
